Betty was born in Walnut, Mississippi to John Perry Quinn and Natalie Haynes (Wright) Quinn on July 8, 1931. She married James Brown and they spent 65 devoted years with each other. She loved quilting and all types of arts and crafts. She was a proud member of “The Tuesday Girls” and the “Stitching Sisters” quilting group. She was a great cook and was best known for her BBQ sauce and chocolate sheet cake.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, son; David Brown, great-granddaughter; Maranda Schoonover and brother; Kenneth Quinn.
Betty is survived by her husband James, son; Alton Brown and wife Colleen, daughter-in-law; Peggy Brown, grandchildren and spouses; Melissa Garfield (Zachary), Andrea Henderson (Matthew), Megan Pierson (Joshua), Angela Cooper (Chris), Stacy Manicom (Dustin), Natalie Torres (Ricky), Curtis Brown (Eileen Beaty), great-grandchildren; Neil Manicom, Kayla Manicom, Sheldon Schoonover, Megan Schoonover, Emily Schoonover, Isabella Torres, Olivia Torres, Calan Pierson and Camille Pierson, great-great granddaughter; Natayla Schoonover , siblings and spouses; John Quinn (Janet) and MaryJane Jackson (Donnie), sister-in-law; Anna Quinn.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Arlington Memory Gardens with Dr. Bob Rutherford officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Northeast Funeral Home.
