Altha was one of four children and lived in Galveston all of her formative years before the family moved to Denver, Colorado after her father died. There, Altha received her high school diploma from East High School and she took several courses at the University of Denver.
Altha married George R. Johnson June 19, 1965 and they were married 44 years. She was a spouse dependent of the US Air Force for 26 years. During these years she and George, later joined by their children, traveled and lived in New York, New Mexico, North Dakota, Southern California, Florida, Japan and Northern California, Germany and England. While living in Europe she visited Italy, The Netherlands, France, Iceland, Austria, Israel and Switzerland before making Oklahoma their home in 1989.
Altha hated being cold. One thing which gave her great joy was being outdoors on a hot, sunny day with a light breeze blowing off the lake. She loved sitting there talking to the Lord, looking over the water and observing nature and people. The most important thing to her was her pursuit of and active relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She had a FULL life of adventure, love, friendships and more.
She left a great legacy for her children. The most important being the relationship with Jesus she lived daily. She also taught them that physical limitations can be opportunities for God’s glory and not to let them or anything else stop you.
She accomplished more than her dreams took her and traveled the world. Her favorite places being England – a lifelong dream and Israel. She had a great love for Israel and the “People of God.”
Altha’s greatest love was Jesus and the Love of Her Life was George. She was honored and proud to be George’s wife and even more, friend - always. She truly thought the world of him. She was so proud of her children and the man and woman they have become. She spoke continuously of them and their accomplishments to friends and family.
Altha held memberships of Grace Fellowship Church – OKC, Messianic Jewish Alliance of America (MJAA), and Rosh Pinah Messianic Jewish Congregation and many more.
Altha was preceded in death by her parents and brother William “Billy” Howard Millican and his wife Neta Millican of La Marque, Texas.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her former husband and friend George Johnson of The Village – Oklahoma City, son Aron Wade Johnson of The Village-Oklahoma City, OK, daughter Kimberley Monique Johnson of Moore, OK, brother Dexter Gail Millican of Denver, CO, sister Nelda Darlene (Millican) Chapman and husband Don Chapman of Aurora, CO, nieces Karen Christine “Chris” Ray, Margaret “Diane” Millican, Joy Nicole Feltman, Beverly “Kandie” Gail Millican and Natalie Paige Scott; nephews David Wayne Millican, John “Mark” Millican and Theo Joel Chapman.
