Alan L. Lamb passed away September 20th in Oklahoma City at 80 years old. He was born February 23, 1930 in Alliance, Nebraska to ranchers, Robert C. Lamb and Marie Dukat. He served in the United States Marine Corps and Marine Corps Reserve from 1950 through 1954 as an electronics instructor and then received his B.Sc. from the University of Nebraska in 1956 with a major in Geology and minors in Mathematics and Chemistry. In the summers of 1952 and 1953 he worked for the American Museum of Natural History making a stratagraphic collection of vertebrate fossils. This work was conducted in Nebraska, North and South Dakota, Wyoming, Colorado, Kansas, and Texas. After his graduation, Alan was employed by Pan American Petroleum, working in Oklahoma and Texas on the integration of geophysical data with geology. From 1959 to 1961 he was employed as District Exploration Geologist for American Climax Petroleum Corporation, working the Mid-Continent and Rocky Mountain area. In 1962 Alan partnered with Clifton Gall to start an independent oil and gas company. After his partner died, Alan continued operating an oil and gas company to the present. Alan was married to Virginia Armour on August 8, 1964. He is survived by his wife, Gina; children: Thomas Lamb, Marcie Meade, and Joy Spicer; and his brother, Robert Lamb. His grandchildren are Natasha, Gigi, Sophia, Zoe, and Callie. Alan is preceded in death by his children, Theresa Lamb, Michael Lamb, and Rick Watson. His family and friends will miss his love, encouragement, and inspiring attitude. The funeral service is scheduled for 12:30 PM, September 25th at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Chapel at 6600 Broadway Extension, Oklahoma City. The graveside service will be held at Waynoka Cemetery at 4:00 PM. Mr. Everett Cox will preside over the services.
