Sidney "Dennis" Bogart

Funeral services for Sidney “Dennis” Bogart, age 76 of Lisbon will be held at 4:00pm on Monday July 8, 2024 at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Deacon Mark LaLonde officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Pine Hill Cemetery on the Eel Weir Road.

Calling hours will be held also on Monday from 10:00am to 12:00pm and 2:00 to 4:00pm at the Funeral Home. Dennis passed away at his home on Tuesday July 2, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.

Surviving is his wife Lorrie; two sons Brian (Kathy) Bogart and Richard (Jennifer) Bogart; a daughter Jennifer (John) Walker all of Ogdensburg; grandchildren Brandon Bogart, Makayla, Dylan & Collin Towne; Eric Anson, two great-grandchildren Jaxxon Towne and Xavier Hatley; two brothers Michael (Judy) Bogart of Auburn and Gordon (Jean) Bogart of Ogdensburg: two sisters Gloria (Robert) Staie and Karen (Carl) Fifield of Ogdensburg; and former wife and mother of his children Karen Bogart.

Siblings David Bogart, Nelson Bogart and Elaine Lalonde predeceased him.

Dennis was born on May 8, 1948 in Ogdensburg, a son of the late Nelson & Margaret (Denny) Bogart. He graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy and entered the US Army in 1969 to 1973 when he received his honorable discharge. He was later married to Lorrie Hazelton on March 5, 1983.

Dennis began his career with Bogart & Son’s Trucking Company which he operated from 1973 to 1981. He then became a NYS Correctional Officer working at Clinton Correctional, Sing-Sing and Ogdensburg Correctional where he retired from in 2006. Dennis enjoyed building houses, hunting, fishing, traveling and working.
