Mary Ann Erwin, 83, of Morristown and Arizona, passed away on October 7, 2024 at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center. Services will be held on November 8th at St. John's The Evangelist Church in Morristown, NY at 11:00am.
Mary Ann is survived by her sons, Mark Corrice and his wife Michelle, of Greenwood Lake, NY and Thomas Erwin and his wife Shannon of Texas; two daughters Mary Beth Corrice and her partner Cherie Anderson of Syracuse, NY, and Carol Schacherer and her husband Dave of Illinois; six grandchildren, Johnathan, Adam, Julia, Emily, Amber, and Jessica; two nephews Matthew and Michael Ewart.
She was predeceased by her son Richard Erwin; her husband Jerry Erwin; and her sister Patricia Pitkin.
Born on December 30, 1940 in Ogdensburg, Mary Ann was the daughter of the late Bernard and Virginia (Bell) Brennan. She graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy and furthered her education at St. Joseph's School of Nursing, and later obtaining her Master's degree in Ottawa, Ontario. After a previous marriage to Jerry Corrice, she married Jerry Erwin 1971.
Mary Ann had a distinguished career as a nurse, working at A. Barton Hepburn Hospital and retiring as the Director of Inpatient Services at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center in 1994. An active member of her community, she participated in various golf leagues, the Elks Club, and the American Legion. She enjoyed traveling, entertaining friends, visiting casinos, reading, watching sports, playing cards, and solving crossword puzzles.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Lawrence County SPCA or the Gateway Museum in Morristown.
