Martha "Marty" J. Ramsey

Martha “Marty” J. Ramsey, age 63 of Ogdensburg died peacefully early Saturday morning (May 17, 2014) at the Riverledge Healthcare Facility surrounded by her family. As per her request, services will be held privately for her family. She will be laid to rest at Foxwood Memorial Park.

Surviving are her children William Wallace of Emeryville, CA, Patti Murray & her husband David of Ogdensburg and Lori Lund & her husband Bruce of Colchester, CT; step-daughters Christa & Shawna Ramsey; 11 grandchildren and many cousins . She was predeceased by her husband Russell Ramsey in 2013 and her sister Judith Kelley in 2010.

Marty was born on September 16, 1950 in Ogdensburg, a daughter of the late Harry & Charlotte (Burns) Kelley. She graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy, and later assisted her father with the operations of Kelley’s Tavern. In 1983 she became employed with the Ogdensburg City School District where she worked for 29 years in the food service department. A prior marriage ended, and she later found her soul mate and best friend Russell W. Ramsey. The couple was married on June 15, 1995 in Lisbon, NY.

She was a member of the Ogdensburg Moose Lodge and enjoyed deer hunting and fishing with her husband Russ, yard work, walking her dog and spending time with her family.
