A Funeral Mass for Lillian A. Dodd, age 88 of Ogdensburg will be held at 10:00am on Friday (March 22, 2019) at St. Mary’s Cathedral with Rev. Joseph Morgan officiating. Burial will be in at the Pine Hill Cemetery in the spring.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday (March 21st) from 12:00pm-2:00pm & 4:00pm-6:00pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home. Mrs. Dodd passed away on Thursday (March 14, 2019) at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Surviving are three sons John (Patty) Beyette of Morristown, James (Stephanie) Beyette of Ogdensburg and Scott Beyette of Ogdensburg; three daughters Susan (John) Mereau of Massena, Linda (Rick) McKay of California and Pamela (Ed) Paige of Ogdensburg; a brother Arnold (Lillian) LaRock of Ogdensburg; sisters Anna (Edward) Baunach of Florida and Virginia (Robert) Dominie of Ogdensburg; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson; special friends Joyce Shattuck, Laura Denny, Shirley Piercey, Don & George Johnson, Mary Jane Rinebold, Patty Edwards, Phyllis Wilson, Jim Fitzgerald and Ann Bertholf all of Ogdensburg; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Three brothers Lawrence, Everett & Robert LaRock along with three sisters June McCort, Arlene LaFaver & Eleanor Teal predeceased her.
Lillian was born on March 30, 1930 in the town of Oswegatchie, a daughter of the late Walter & Almina (Willard) Larock. She attended Heuvelton and Ogdensburg schools, and later married Gordon Beyette in 1949. The couple’s marriage later ended, and she again found love and married William Dodd on June 24, 1984. He predeceased her in 1993.
During her career she worked at Loblaws and A & P Grocery Stores; waitressed at Phillips Diner and owned and operated G & L Ceramics on NY Ave for 20 years. Lill enjoyed going to the casino, playing cards & bingo, bus trips, collecting angels, eating out and spending time with her grandchildren.
