James T. Doe, age 87 of the Five Mile Line Road, Ogdensburg passed away on Thursday (December 5, 2024) at the Claxton Hepburn Medical Center with his wife by his side. Visitation will be held from 9:00am-12:00pm on Thursday (December 12, 2024) with a short service to follow. Burial will be at Notre Dame Cemetery.
Surviving is his wife Joyce; two sons Kevin (Denise) Doe of California and Christopher (Angela) Doe of South Carolina; a daughter Kathryn Doe of Waddington; grandchildren Erin (Steven) Klusky, Sarah (Joshua) Woods, Jeshua Doe, Joel (Perla) Doe, Micah (Emily) Doe, Sophia Doe, Liam Doe, Nolan Doe, Cecilia Doe, Maeghan Wallace & Samuel Mayette; great-grandchildren Brayden, Aria & Colton Bates, Elizabeth & Peyton Klusky, Jordyn Woods, Aurora & Emery Doe and Calin & Evey Wallace; three brothers Lawrence (Barbara) Doe of Ogdensburg, Donald Doe of New Jersey and Albert (Joan) Doe of Ogdensburg; along with nieces, nephews & cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents Adelore & Catherine Smith; mother & father in law Henry & Ruth Johnston; a brothers David Doe age 6 ½ and George Doe; a sister Bethany (Valentine) Raab; sister-in-law Karol Doe and sister & brother-in law Shirley (Peter) Silver.
Jim was born on August 13, 1937 in Ogdensburg, a son of Adelore & Catherine (Smith) Doe. He attended Ogdensburg Free Academy and later entered the United States Navy in 1955 to 1959 when he received his honorable discharge. He then married Joyce E. Johnston on June 24, 1961 at Notre Dame Church with Rev. Lucien Leduc officiating the couple’s marriage.
Jim worked 33+ years at Newell Manufacturing as a tool & die maker and production supervisor. He was a member of the Notre Dame and St. Phillip & James Catholic Churches. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and cooking in his spare time.
