Funeral services for Earl D. Gebo, age 69 of Ogdensburg will be held on Tuesday (July 30, 2013) at 4:00pm at Notre Dame Church with Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. His place of rest will be at Foxwood Memorial Park.
Calling hours will be held also on Tuesday from 12:00noon until 3:00pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home. Earl passed away at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center on Thursday evening (July 25th) after being stricken at home.
Surviving is his wife Gloria; sons David Gebo of Houston, TX and Denny Gebo of Ogdensburg; a daughter Jeanne Gebo of Houston; a sister Suzanne Zak & her husband Richard of Sun City Center, FL and a niece Courtney Zak. A brother Wilfred “Freddie” Gebo predeceased him.
Earl was born on September 29, 1943 in Kahuku Hawaii, a son of Joseph & Anne (Enos) Gebo. He graduated from Clifton Fine High School where he was a star athlete playing baseball, basketball and soccer. He then married Gloria McPherson on August 8, 1964. Earl was employed with P & C Foods for 42 years as their grocery manager, and retired in 2009. He was a 42 year member of the UFCW Union, played softball with the Seaway Slow-pitch League, coached little league for 50 years, and umpired for the women’s softball league for many years.
He enjoyed his beloved dog KayCee, visiting with friends at Phillips Diner, going to the casino and spending time with his family.
