Funeral services for Donald F. Moore, age 70 of Main Street in Lisbon will be held Monday (June 11, 2012) at 11:00am at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Dettmer officiating. Burial will follow the service at Flackville Cemetery in Lisbon.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday (June 10, 2012) from 2-4 & 6-8pm at the funeral home. Mr. Moore passed away June 6, 2012 at his home unexpectedly.
Surviving are his children Scott Moore & his wife Tammy of Ogdensburg; daughters Trisha Parshall of Loveland, CO Angie Baldini & her husband Ted of Syracuse, NY; brothers James Moore & his wife Sandy of W. Potsdam grandchildren Guy & Autumn Moore, Brooke & Thad Arquitt and Evan Baldini; 3 great-grandchildren Isiah, Brady & Collin; a sister in law Joan Moore of Lisbon along with several nieces, nephews & cousins.
A brother Wayne Moore predeceased him.
Donald was born on May 11, 1942 in Ogdensburg, NY a son of the late Earl & Una (Martin) Moore. He attended Lisbon Central School for his education. A prior marriage to Darlene McKerchie ended in divorce, and he later married Deborah Powers in 1995. The couple separated, but remained friends throughout the years.
His career began at the Utica State Hospital in the food service department, until 1960 when he relocated to Ogdensburg. He then became employed at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center, and worked as a therapy aide until 1996 when he retired. He was a member of the Tractor Pull Association, and enjoyed the tractor pull competitions around St. Lawrence County, hunting at his camp in Parishville, his Sharpee dogs, eating at Ruby’s, and watching the NY Yankees.
