My condolences to Barb and families. I enjoyed playing golf with Shep. Rest in eternal peace my friend.

My DEAREST Aunt Barbara, Jerry Stacia, and ALL all other members of my family, my thoughts and prayers are so sincere and with all of you!!!! My Uncle Shep was an amazing man who loved his family with appropriate words that escape me at this time. I love you all and wish daily I would have spent the time lost with all of you! I have included a picture of MY AUNT THE GENUINE  matriarch of our family, my Godfather and Uncle Shep with me as a baby. Uncle Dalton loved his Florida trips. He was a great man and truly loved by many friends and family. We share our hearts and prayers for all the Sheppard Family. Heaven received another great Sheppard.

California Sheppards

I first met Shep in January of 1988 when I was hired as a secretary at SLU Physical Plant.  I was a quiet 27 year old and very nervous.  Shep was one of my supervisors. He was very soft spoken, friendly and made me feel welcome. He was one of the greatest supervisors I have had at SLU.  Condolences to the family and RIP Shep.

I'm sorry for the family's loss. I  met Shep at the Stillwater hunting club. It was Thanksgiving weekend 1996 . Shep dropped me off on watch on beach hill. I said to him wich way will the deer becoming from , he pointed in the direction and I waited about 45 minutes.  Then a hole herd of deer came right at me . The last deer to come out was a buck. I emptied my 30-30 rifle on him. I see him go down once. Then it seemed like forever waiting for him to come pick me up. Shep finally came back to me and he says was that you shooting,  I said yes , he said you shot a spike horn , I about started to cry because I swore up and down that was a big buck. Then Shep says I'm kidding with you,  you got a nice 8 pt . I said really,  I told him that it was my 1st buck ever . I was shaking so bad , he took my rifle and carried it back to the truck . And he handed me an orange hat and said your a dog the rest of  today. I will never forget that. He was a great man !! RIP Shep. 

I do appreciate Sheps kindness to my daughter and me. He was a gentleman and helpful. He will be missed. RIP Shep

I’ll never forget the first time I met Shep. It was early morning, my first time at the Middle Branch,  and he was sitting in front of the fireplace of the old camp. He immediately stood up, introduced himself and welcomed me, not as a stranger, but an old friend. I cherish the times we spent together over the years and will be forever grateful for having had the opportunity to have known this wonderful man. He shared his knowledge and love of the woods unconditionally. As I look back on the many times that Shep “held court” in the evening after the day’s hunt, I cannot help but smile.
Happy hunting my old friend, I’ll miss you.



Shep was one of my supervisors  when I worked at SLU.  When I worked weekends I had to call Shep  many times to get some problems solved.  He was a great person to work with.  Rest in peace and prayers go out to Shep and all of his family.
