Viola was born November 4, 1949, to Marcelo T. and Clara Garcia in Fort Stockton, Texas. She married her childhood sweetheart Tomas Salgado shortly after high school. Together they raised five children: Annette, Rebecca, Melinda, Tommy and Kimberly.
Viola lived most of her life in Odessa, where she primarily worked in various retail shops. She loved her children and always prioritized taking care of her family. Viola was never shy about sharing her opinions. She adored all her grandchildren and will be missed by all.
She is preceded in death by her husband.
Viola is survived by her children, Rebecca (Juan) Alvarez , Annette (Eduardo) Caceres, Melinda (Richard Ward) Salgado, Tommy (Veronica Luna) Salgado, Kimberly (Charles) Matts; 16 Grandchildren; 13 Great Grandchildren; and many other extended family and friends.
A visitation for Viola will be held Wednesday, November 20, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Odessa Funeral Home, 1700 North Jackson, Odessa, TX 79761. A celebration of life service will occur Thursday, November 21, 2024, at 10:00 AM, 1700 North Jackson, Odessa, TX 79761. A burial / committal service will follow at Ector County Cemetery, 300 S Dixie Blvd, Odessa, TX 79761.
Serving as pallbearers are Aaron Alvarez, Samuel Alvarez, Richard Ward, Hoan Nguyen, Juan Portillo and Tristan Salgado.
