Mariano Hernandez

was born on February 11, 1933 in Terlingua, Texas to Tomas Hernandez and Francisca Cervantes.

Our most loving and giving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend slipped through our arms to enter forever peace with

our Lord. He leaves his wife of 57 years Adalia Santos Hernandez; sons, Mario Hernandez and wife, Francis of Odessa,

Thomas Hernandez and wife, Sue of Muskegon, Michigan, Charlie Hernandez and wife, Vicky of Austin, Texas, Raymond

Santos of Odessa; and daughters, Debbie Mata of Odessa and Dianne Machuca of Euless, Texas; brothers, Faustino

Hernandez and wife, Agapita of Odessa, Chavelo Hernandez and wife, Chita of Grand Prairie, Hipolito Hernandez and wife,

Esperanza, Bill Milan and wife, Gloria of Lawndale, California, Tonio Gaspar and wife, Carol of Los Angeles, California,

Richardo Gaspar of Odessa; sisters, Julia Hill and Modesta Lujan and husband, Mike; 16 grandchildren and 12 great

grandchildren, 4 loving dogs; loving extended families, Cortez and Carrasco; along with numerous nieces and nephews; and all

his loving friends.

Pallbearers will be Alvaro “Anthony” Mata, Isaac Garza, Josh Valenzuela, Jessie Santos, and Raymond Santos.

Mariano was a veteran of the Korean War. He was proud to have served his county. He loved to share stories of his childhood

in Marfa, Texas. He was always willing to give of his time to help in any situation to any person. He sincerely cared about

every detail of life. His generosity to all those who had the pleasure of sharing his day to day life will forever be remembered.

Without our Chico, our hearts are broken and our tears endless, but our memories and joys are immeasurable. His

unconditional love and honesty will never leave our hearts. His four pets will be loved and cared for in your memory.

He now stands at the forefront of paradise with his mother, father, brothers, sister and son-in-law. Rest now, and until we meet

again, know that we will keep and protect your memories forever in our hearts.

Service of Remembrance will be held at 7:00pm Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Odessa Home Chapel. Services will be held

at 10:00am Friday, September 28, 2012 at Odessa Bible Church located at 2110 E. 10th St. with Pastor Bob Thayer

officiating. Interment to follow at Ector County Cemetery Peaceful Garden Section by Odessa Funeral Home.
