Juan (Johnny) Salgado Subia Jr.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at Our Lady of San Juan Catholic Church with Father Mark Woodruff officiating. Interment will follow at Ector County Cemetery. Rosary will be said at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Johnny was born on February 6, 1938, in Shafter, TX, to Juan and Francisca Subia.

He was a Lay Deacon for the Catholic Hospital Ministry in the City of Odessa. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved sports, and spending time with his family, and most of all, he loved serving the Lord and his church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Librado Subia, Manuel Gonsalez, Eulojio Gonsalez, and sisters Francisca Mireles, Simona Rivera, Estella Castelo, and Lorina Guevara.

Survivors include his wife Delia Z. Subia and children Sylvia Oberhoffer, Debra Otwell and husband, Danny, Mary Franco and husband Ramon, Juanita Jennings and husband Tim, Johnny Subia and wife Shirley, Michelle Martin, Margaret Kraft, Rosa Barrera, Sophia Lujan and husband Rene, Delia Sosa and husband Jesse, Angela Hernandez and husband Frank, Priscilla Rodriguez and husband Robert, Delores Rodriguez, Andy Maldonado, Manuel Barrera and wife Hilda, Adrian Barrera and wife Estella, and Paul Barrera; siblings Jose Subia, Esperanza Hernandez, and Alfonso Subia. Johnny had many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren that he loved and cherished deeply.
