Gary fought a courageous battle with Leukemia at MD Anderson in Houston, Texas.
Gary was born on March 6, 1943 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, to Joseph (Joe) and Myrtis Lee.
He was preceded in death by his father and a son, Joseph (Joey) Lloyd Lee.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Janet Combest Lee, a daughter, Sheri Annette Woods, a son and daughter-in-law, William Todd Combest and Elizabeth of Belton, Texas. Granddaughters, Lindsey and Jordan Woods, Kaylee and Madison Combest. He is also survived by his Mother, Myrtis Lee; sisters and their husbands; Beverli Everett and Jim, Deby Hurt and Rodney, and many nieces and nephews.
Gary graduated from Permian High School in 1961. He served in the United States Marine Reserves for 6 years as Lance Corporal. He worked many years in oilfield as Sales Manager for Norris Obannan. Most recently was associated with Encounters of Midland.
Gary met the love of his life, Janet, on a blind date. They were married 9 months later in Odessa. He loved doing wood work, fishing, photography in his earlier years, and spending time with his family.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 9, 2015 in the Chapel at Crossroads Fellowship on Hwy 191. Visitation will be after the service. Donations can be made to M D Anderson Leukemia Foundation. Services are entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Home.
