Jimmie Ruth Scott

Jimmie R. Scott was born June 23, 1929, in Walters, Okla., to Lewis and Alice Phillips. The Lord took her home to join Him and her late husband, Theron, on Friday, December 3, 2010, exactly one year from the date of Theron's passing.

Jimmie was a long-time resident of Odessa, TX, and an active member of the First Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was married to Theron Scott for 59 years.

Jimmie is survived by her daughters, Deborah Wise (and husband David) of El Paso, TX, and Rhonda Scott of Harlingen, TX; grandchildren, Chad Gray and Melissa Kelley (and husband Brian), both of Odessa, and Cody Wise of El Paso; great-grandsons, Blake Gray and Ethan Kelley, both of Odessa; great-granddaughter, Georgia Gray of San Angelo, TX; and sisters, Reba Overacker of Colleyville, TX, and Hazel Walden of Lubbock, TX. She was preceded in death by sister, Nell Reeser of Tahoka, TX.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, December 5, 2010, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 6, 2010, at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with Curtis Brewer officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be given in Jimmie's memory to the First Baptist Church, 709 N. Lee, Odessa, TX 79762.
