Doris was born May 28, 1930 to Edgar and Bertha Andrews in Hyman, Texas. After graduating from Westbrook High School in 1946, she married her best friend Howard Golden in Westbrook, Texas, on July 3, 1948. Doris and Howard made Odessa, Texas their home in 1954. She attended Northside Baptist Church and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Doris worked several years with ECISD and Decal Mart.
Doris and Howard were happily married for 61 years and had five children. She loved and looked forward to family get-togethers at the lake, anniversary/July 4th and holiday celebrations with her children and grandkids. She enjoyed getting together with friends on weekends for either a game of cards or dominoes. She liked visiting with neighbors and when her children were young she enjoyed looking out and seeing all the neighborhood children gathered in the yard. She enjoyed reading, sewing and crocheting.
Doris is preceded in death by her husband, two sons Terry Golden and Richard Golden, three Grandsons, Michael Golden, Sammy Terry, and Jarod Clement, her parents, two brothers, Charles and Gwynn Andrews, and two sisters, Wanda Cooper and Juanita Browning.
Doris is survived by two daughters, Linda Cooper and husband Ronnie, of Thayer, Mo., Neva Brown and husband Tom of Gardendale, Texas, one son, Keith Golden and wife Natalie of Odessa, daughter-in-law Paula Golden of Weatherford, Texas, eleven grandchildren, and nineteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Frank Wilson Funeral Directors from 2pm -4pm on Sunday, November 14, 2021. Funeral services will be at the Northside Baptist Church at 1pm on Monday, November 15, 2021. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Garden.
