Anita Torres Diaz

from Odessa TX passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024.

Anita was born in Abilene Texas January 13, 954 to the late Leon V. Diaz and Anita T. Diaz.

She graduated high school and then continued on to receive a Bachelors of Art degree Our Lady Of The Lake University in San Antonio.

Anita worked as a Director of Religious Education for Holy Redeemer Catholic Church for 30 years. Anita enjoyed arts crafts, teaching children about the Lord and outing with her church.

She is preceded in death by, Leon V. Diaz (Father), Anita T Diaz (Mother), Reyes T Diaz (Brother), Rosa T Diaz (Sister), Isabel T Martinez (Sister), Augustine T Diaz (Brother)_, Charles Hambrick (Brother In Law), Rosie Diaz (Sister in Law), Michael R Diaz (Great Nephew), Rusty Morel (Nephew), Anitajulia (Niece), Honey Diaz (Great Niece), Maternal Grandparents.

Anita is survived by her siblings, Ramona Morel (Ronald) from Fort Worth, Theadora T. Rubalcaba from Fort Worth, Edward T Diaz from Abilene, Cecilia Hambrick from Abilene, Guadalupe Diaz from Abilene.

Surviving nieces and nephews, Martin Diaz, Sylvia Diaz, Edward Diaz Jr., Tina Zapata (Lorenzo), Augustine Diaz Jr., Leon Diaz, Elizabeth Martinez, Angie Gallardo, Julie, Raymond Morel, Regina Moral and Robin Morel.

She wants to thank her Beloved Friends for loving and caring for her. Lupe Dutchover, Angelica Gonzalez, Carmen Meras and Maira Luevano.

Honorary pallbearers are Matthew Trevino, Adan Castillo, Gregory Dutchover Jr., Michael Dutchover, Anthony Rojo, Albino Casillas.

The Family of Anita T Diaz wishes to thank all the sister friends for caring, loving and being there for Annie.

A visitation for Anita will be held Wednesday, September 25, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home, 601 North Alleghaney, Odessa, TX 79761. A rosary will occur Wednesday, September 25, 2024 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 601 North Alleghaney, Odessa, TX 79761. A funeral mass will occur Thursday, September 26, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 2633 Conover Ave, Odessa, TX 79763. A visitation will occur Friday, September 27, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Highway 277 South, Abilene, TX 79606.

Anita will be laid to rest in Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 US 277, Abilene, TX.
