Tam Nguyen Asher (78), born October 20, 1945 in Hanoi, Vietnam, was the eldest of sixteen and became matriarch of the family when her father passed on February 25, 2013. Tam was a high-level translator for the American military during the Vietnam War, Christian, hero for her family, bank teller, tougher than nails mom, party organizer, gracious host, Continental Airlines representative, and watchful sister, wife, mom, aunt, and grandma. On December 17, 2023 she flew home to be with God and all the angels and saints. Tam is survived by her husband Ken of 49 years, 12 siblings, three children and their spouses, six grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her legacy of enduring strength, courage, faith, love, and selflessness will live on.
A viewing for Tam will be held Tuesday, December 26, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at St Margaret's Catholic Church, 4300 Oceanside Blvd, Oceanside, California 92056, followed by a funeral service from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. An additional viewing for Tam will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Corrigan Craciun Funeral Home, 23040 Center Ridge Rd., Westlake, Ohio 44145, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM.
