Mary "Betty" Rodriguez, 73 OCEANSIDE -- Mary "Betty" Rodriguez passed away Monday, March 7, 2011. She was born June 11, 1938 in Los Angeles, Calif., daughter of Jesse and Margaret Saucedo. Betty spent most of her years as a wife, mother and grandmother. She worked for five years in Administration in the Radiology Department at the Naval Hospital on Camp Pendelton in Oceanside, Calif. Betty is survived by her husband of 48 years, Edward H. Rodriguez; daughter, Theresa Creagh and son-in-law, Eric Creagh; granddaughter, Meghan Creagh; son, Ed Rodriguez and daughter- in-law, Wendy Rodriguez; granddaughter, Gabby; grandson, Alex; daughter, Rebecca Rodriguez; and son, John Rodriguez. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 15, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Carlsbad. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org. Betty was a supporter of Alzheimer's research to find a cure in memory of her sister, whom she lost to the disease.
