Marilyn Anne Muntz 91 of Oceanside, California, graduated to heaven on January 6, 2024. She was born in Jersey City, New Jersey where she met her husband of 46 years. In 1971 her husband, Victor accepted a position with SDG&E, Marilyn, Vic and their 5 girls, moved to Carlsbad CA. Marilyn attended Carlsbad Community Church, where she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior, in 1997 Marilyn became a member of New Song Community Church, Oceanside, CA where she was dedicated to serving in the Nursery, hosting Bible Studies at her home, attended Women's Bible Studies, also very involved in LAF (Life after 50) and was a Volunteer at Dynamic Church Planting International (DCPI). She was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Oceanside, for over 45 years, where her life time friends continued to have lunches through 2023.
Marilyn, was a stay at home mom until 1972, at which time she entered the workforce, Endevco, as a solderer, and went on to have a successful career as a Buyer in the City of Carlsbad, from 1979 to 1994. She was dedicated to her work and made lasting contributions to her community.
Marilyn loved to travel, in her motorhome “Marilyn’s Getaway”, with her friends and family, and lots of road trips with Bernie Snyder (beloved roommate), a month-long trip across the country stopping at friends and relatives and Niagara Falls with Lyn Anderson (niece), many cruises with Barbara and Joe including a tour of Israel. She also visited the Ireland ancestors of her mother (Loretta Tietz) and Dauenhauer family roots in Germany. And of course numerous trips with her husband in their motorhome. She loved calling her friends in NewJersey, and all her friends she met throughout her life.
Marilyn was a kind, generous, character-filled, exemplified spirit filled woman who loved her family deeply. She is preceded in death by her husband: Victor Peter Muntz, father Joseph Dauenhauer and mother Loretta Tietz Dauenhauer, brother Joseph Dauenhauer (Cherie).
She is survived by her daughters: Barbara Nedros, (Joe) Loretta Muntz-Seeby, Janet de Haan, Luanne Patnode (Joe) and Joanne Monroe, twelve grandchildren: Dyan Oppenheimer, Katrina Nedros, Jason Wraines, Sheryl Spurlock, Grace Elizabeth Seeby, Nicholas, Christopher and Andrea de Haan, Tyler and Lexie Patnode and Kayla and Kody Monroe, thirteen great Grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Plus many of her Beloved Church Family.
Celebration of Life will be held on February 24, 2024 at New Song Community Church, 3780 Pio Pico Drive, Carlsbad, CA 92008 at 1 PM, presided over by Pastor Mark Kuhn. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to DCPI.ORG (Dynamic Church Planting International) or San Diego County Humane Society. Eternal Hills Mortuary in Oceanside California, is assisting the family with the funeral arrangements.
Marilyn Anne Muntz will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her and her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of her family and friends.
