John R. Kropf II, who went by Jack, passed away on October 2, 2020 in Vista, California. He was born on September 1, 1933, the first of four children, to John R. Kropf I and Margaret Lawrence in Canton, Ohio. By his own account, John lived a full and happy life.
John was married 38 wonderful years to Nancy Kropf, who preceded him in death, passing away in May 2018. John leaves behind 5 children - John R. Kropf III, his former wife Lisa Romano, and current partner Vera; Jim Kropf and daughter-in-law Karen Kropf; Julie (Kropf) Knoop and son-in-law Keith Knoop; step-son Jeff Murphy and daughter-in-law Annette Murphy; and step-daughter Kathleen Murphy and partner Chris Knudsen; and grandchildren Aidan Romano, Connor Murphy (Ashton), Kolton Murphy, Madison Hughes (Jase), Hunter Murphy, and great-grandson Bodhi Hughes, and many other relatives and friends.
John achieved a bachelor's degree from Michigan State University, served in the United States Army during the Korean War, and his career included various management positions with UCLA and Cal Poly University, Pomona. John will be fondly remembered for his kindness, intelligence, generosity, and his love for his family and friends. John was an avid reader, enjoyed discussing political and social current events, following the stock market, watching sports games, traveling with his wife Nancy and friends, and playing cards with his grandchildren.
His legacy, and the memories shared amongst those that loved him will be cherished for eternity.
