San Diego, a real native son. He moved from the city of San Diego
27 years ago to live in Oceanside, CA.
He was a very active and innovative individual. He loved
people and was a friend to everyone. He was devoted to his family
and his church.
Jim was a licensed barber. He barbered at Miramar Naval Air

himself and did some commercial diving. He loved to explore new
jobs.
For 34 years he and his wife, Lena, volunteered in the United
States Coast Guard Auxiliary. Jim taught boating safety classes,
attended many boat shows, went out on search and rescue and
many other things. He was the first person ever to use personal
watercraft, (jet skis) as patrol boats in the America’s Cup Races.
Every year he was given an award for having participated in all four
corner stones of the Auxiliary.
Whatever he did he was dedicated and put his full attention to it.
He loved his family, his country and most of all his Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Barbara.
He leaves his wife, Lena, of 37 years. He leaves his sons,
William, David (Jackie), Robert (Irene), and Mark, and his daughter
Lorie. He has eight wonderful grandchildren and one great
grandson. He also has many adopted grandchildren.
His smile and generous stories will be missed by all.
