1933 - 2024
Grace L. Adcox, affectionately known as Lulabelle, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2024. Born on July 28, 1933, in Georgia, Grace was the beloved daughter of Johnnie Howell and Ruby Howell.
Grace is survived by her family: John Adcox, Robert (Bob) Adcox, Cheryl A. Adcox, and her sister, Carolyn Howell, and Carolyn's spouse, Harbot Mathis. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Johnny Ray Howell, and her beloved husband, Johnny A. Adcox, USMC Retired.
Grace’s life journey took her from Georgia to California, where she settled in San Marcos, California. She shared over 28 years of marriage with Johnny and never loved anyone else, carrying his memory with her throughout her life as she raised their three children with love and dedication.
She worked in the housekeeping field for over 30 years, serving as the Director of Housekeeping at Quails Inn and Redwood Terrace Retirement Community in Escondido, where she retired after 20 years of service. Grace was baptized in the Southern Baptist faith and held on to her faith throughout her life.
Above all, Grace will be remembered as the funny, feisty, and steadfast rock of her family. She shared many good moments with friends and family, always the first to help in anyone’s home. Grace was simple, dependable, and known for her care and kindness.
Funeral services will be held at Eternal Hills on October 14, followed by burial next to her beloved husband Johnny at Eternal Hills Cemetery.
