It is with great sadness and sorrow that we celebrate the life of Marilyn Epstein. Marilyn, also known as Marti or Mimi Epstein, passed away on September 3, 2022. She was full of energy and strength, much more than most at age 74.
Her life was always her family. This was her first and foremost commitment. Marilyn celebrated her 52nd wedding anniversary to Martin Barry Epstein on August 16, 2022. Throughout their life, they were always referred to as Marti and Marty.
Her pride and joy were her two children, Jordan and Josh. They are two days less than a year apart. Jordan Zoe is married to Eric Bohm, and they have two daughters, Sydney and Skylar. Sydney is named after Marilyn’s father Sidney and is a senior at the Ohio State University. Skylar is a sophomore at Indiana University and is called Skye Blue by our family for her blue eyes that she also inherited from Marilyn’s father. Joshua Zak Epstein’s middle name comes from Z for Zalman, which is the Jewish name of her father. Joshua is married to Sima Yakoby Epstein. They have two children, Sloane and Liam, age 12 and 10. One of Mimi’s favorite things was babysitting them and taking them to activities. Josh and Sima are both Orthodontists just like Marty, so our family is blessed with three Orthodontists.
She also is one of four sisters. She leaves behind her three lovely sisters Geri, Sandy, and Debbie and all their wonderful children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Marilyn truly loved a life of service and dedication to others. She earned her degree in Social Work. She was a Senior Citizen Social Worker for many years in the Short Hills-Millburn area. Above all, Marilyn loved her life and was always helping others. She always put her family first and never wanted anyone else to go through hardship. Marilyn loved supporting her family and was the best cook. Forever in our memory, her chicken cutlets, mandel bread, and matzo ball soup.
She will live forever in our hearts and her memory can not and will not be extinguished.
Marilyn was never about gifts or money - so if in your heart you would like to make a contribution to your favorite charity, she would greatly appreciate that. She never asked for anything for herself. Her goal in life was to make everyone else happy.
This will always be her legacy.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.bloomfieldcooperocean.com for the Epstein family.
