He is predeceased by his wife, Zelma, of 68 years, his son, Michael Winters, and his grandson Brian Gavin. Herb is survived by his four daughters ; Sharyn Maggio, Marsha Falco, Robin Wizansky (Michael Costanzo), and Rene Scott (Richard Scott), nine grandchildren; Rudy, Nick, Lindsay, Michael, Amy, Michael Roy, Michelle, Alison, and Raye, and eight great-grandchildren.
Herbert was a graduate of Asbury Park High School. He was a wallpaper hanger in the shore area until his retirement. He was a Past Master of Ocean Masonic Lodge No. 89, member of Crescent Shriners, Long Branch Elks, Bradley Beach Fire Department, and the Elberon Fire & First Aid Department.
A graveside service for Herbert will be held Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 11:30 AM at Agudath Achim Cemetery, 2432 West Bangs Ave, Neptune.
Contributions in Herbert's memory may be made to Shriners Children Hospital.
