Sam Houston Young, Jr., age 94, of Ocala, Florida (formerly of Summerfield, Florida) passed away on August 24, 2022. Mr. Young was born on March 5, 1928 in Des Arc, Arkansas to the late Sam Houston Young, Sr. and Edith (Seymore) Young.
Sam was a veteran of the United States Army and served in Korea as a medic in the 180th Infantry Regiment of the 45th Division. He was a life member of the VFW Post #8083, Belleview, Florida. He retired as a machine operator at Bendix-Honeywell in South Bend, Indiana.
Mr. Young is preceded in death by his four brothers, Wilton L., Frank, Jim and Granville Young.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Thresia Carroll Young; son, Richard Keith (Leena Das) Young; sister, Joyce Young Browning; sister-in-law, Shirley Young along with two grandchildren, Cameron and Nicole Young.
A visitation will be Tuesday, August 30 from 10:30-11:30am at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 5740 S. Pine Avenue, Ocala, FL 34480. www.ForestLawnOcala.com. A Graveside Service will be at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida with Military Honors.
