Robert E. Caron born May 3, 1932 in Pawtucket, RI. Currently lives in Ocala, FL and formerly from Grafton, MA. He is survived by his wife, Helen Caron of 30 years; three children Donna Guillaume and Robert S. Caron of MA and Sandy Winkler of FL; grandchildren, Bob Caron, Sarah Bowman, Michelle Caron and Julie Guillaume and great-grandchildren, Kylie Bowman and Brody Caron; three stepsons, Fred, Mark and Eric Schaefer and their children and predeceased by his grandson Daniel Guillaume in 1998. He served in the Korean War as a paratrooper in the 82nd Air Borne Division of the United States Army and remained active in his local Air Borne Chapter. Since 1997 to present he has served as chairman, secretary and treasurer. He also was past Chairman of the 82nd Air Borne National Association.
He was proud of his work with youth during his younger years serving as a boy scout master, coaching in the Babe Ruth league and as a Sunday School teacher. He enjoyed singing, working in his yard and his collection of cookie jars. He was a devoted husband and a loving father and grandfather. Bob Caron would want to be remembered for his honesty, and the passion for those he served.
A visitation has been scheduled for Sunday August 7, 2011 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Ocala Florida. A funeral mass will be held on Monday August 8, 2011 at 12:00pm at the Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Ocala, Florida. Burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
