Eugene (Gene) Vincent Ryan, 80, from Summerfield, Florida died on September 4, 2017. Gene was born on July 11, 1937 in Des Moines, Iowa. Gene is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carolyn, and daughters Kim (Scott) Christie, Beth (Bob) Fee, Linda (Don) Stuart and Lisa Reid. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was a very proud father and grandfather and enjoyed spending as much time with family as possible. Gene retired from Sears where he spent his entire career of almost 40 years. After retirement, he served the Lord through his mission work in Slovakia. He also served his Del Webb community.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 815 S. Washington Street, Naperville, IL 60540 (Slovakia Mission) so Gene’s mission work can continue.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 8, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Summerfield.
Interment will be at a later date in Indianapolis, Indiana.
