Born and raised in Monroe, Louisiana, James was a man who found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved fishing, often rising before the sun to sit quietly by the water and believed in the dignity of honest, hard work. He spent his life working with his hands, building, fixing and laboring, always with purpose. He enjoyed a good plate of southern cooking.
