Larry Joe Glass

Joe’s early years were spent in Marian, Indiana. He received his Bachelor of Science degree at Purdue University, then continued to earn a Master of Science and Doctorate degrees at Texas A & M. Joe was an accomplished Professor of Agricultural Engineering at Texas A&M and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo for 40 years. He was an active member of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers. Joe

took several trips to India to consult with agriculture professionals on wells, pumps, and irrigation methods that would help sustain water resources for communities in need. He loved advising his students and helping them succeed. Joe retired from Cal Poly Professor Emeriti in 2001.

Joe was blessed with five children Warren, Jamie, Cari, Jonathan, Beth and step-children Marc, Laura and Scott. A delight to his heart are his grandchildren Sonni, Jeston, Abby, Ashton, Payton, Mia, Keaton, Jarrett, Brett, Lauren, Leah, Noah, Brady, Shea, Morgan, Grace, Andrew, Ryan, Brad, Nichole, Ryan, Connor and Brittany. An extra measure of blessings are great-grandchildren Amelia, Rosie, Nina, Tolson, Eli and Alyssa.

Joe and his wife Patti have participated in ministries and community service in Carmel, Monterey, Pacific Grove, and Oakhurst. They have traveled throughout the USA, and the world, for ministry projects. Joe was well-known for his Bible memorization, evangelistic efforts, and compassion. Countless people have been the recipients of his generous heart.

He is survived by his wife, Patti; Brothers Harold and James Glass; Sister Jane Ann Tucker (Max); Children: Warren Glass, Jamie Corr (Paul), Cari Mueller (Skip), Jonathan Glass, and Beth Vengley (Jeff); Stepchildren, Marc Huth (Toni), Laura Gothard (Chris), Scott Huth (Rhonda); and 23 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Interment: Oakhill Cemetery, Oakhurst, CA. The family is thankful for love and care given to Joe by families of Oakhurst Evangelical Free Church, Ralph and Teri Lucas, Break the Barriers, St. Agnes and Clovis Hospitals. We thank everyone who prayed for Joe and our family over the past months.
