On the morning of Monday, July 22nd, 2024, at 75 years of age, Carol Treadaway, passed from this life due to complications from ALS. She was born on February 2nd, 1949, in San Jose, California and is survived by her 3 older sisters Joanie, Mary Lou and Sue and younger brothers Bob and Rick. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Dennis Ladon Treadaway and her mother Mary Livengood. Her 4 children Darlene, Pamela, Julie and Keith were by her side in her last days along with her 6 beautiful grandchildren Kobi, Alyssa, Joshua, William, Amanda and Caitlin. One of her biggest joys at the end of her time on earth was meeting her first Great Grand Child JT (John Treadaway Moore). She was so very blessed by him during this time of trial.
As a child, you were more likely to see her in a tree, surveying the land from her hiding place above. She loved spending time in nature and never got tired of the beauty around her. Her happiest times were surrounded by family whether camping or celebrating holidays together. She never failed to celebrate life and bring joy to others whenever she could. She saw the good in everyone and had a compassionate heart. She attended the University of Santa Cruz where she earned a bachelor’s degree then went on to teach behaviorally challenged and special needs children. Her unconditional love for them was evident and they flourished under her care and teaching.
She had a lifelong commitment to care for people. Once she retired from teaching, she devoted a great deal of time to volunteering at her local church and MMI preparing medical equipment for people around the world. If her life must be summed up, and it never truly can; it would be by her commitment to the love of Christ, a love she carried into the world through her care of others. Her life exemplified the Lord’s love which she shared with her family, friends and everyone who knew her. She lost her ability to move and speak along the way but never once took her eyes off Jesus or missed an opportunity to share the love of the Lord with everyone she met. She will be deeply missed.
Matthew 25;23 … Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’
