Reverend Larry Hindmand, age 77, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 22, 2018. Larry grew up in Lincoln, NE and felt the call to ministry early in his life. After graduating from Bethany Nazarene College, Larry went on to lead and pastor Nazarene churches in Salina, KS, Wichita KS, Roxana, IL, Rochester, NY and Oak Lawn, IL. Larry had a passion for the gospel, a love for people and ministered where ever the Lord led him whether it was at his dialysis center where he received treatment or in his home leading a Bible Study. Larry’s optimism, humor and hope always brought light and warmth to every room he entered. Larry is survived by his wife Martha, the love of his life of 58 years. Two daughters Julie Wiens (Dan) and Janelle Hindmand (Kate) and three grandchildren Jay, Joe and Kate Wiens. He is also survived by his mother Claudine Hindmand and two sisters, Wynette Morningstar(Dave) and Lynda Jueckstock(Robert). A sister-in-law Marlene Munson(John), brother- in- law Reverend Carl Godwin(Gayle) and several nieces and nephews. Preceeded in death by his father Wayne Hindmand and his sister- in -law and brother- in -law Mary and Joe Brown. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 28th from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home (Oak Lawn, IL). A celebration of Larry’s life will be held on Thursday, March 29th at 11:00 am at Chicago First Church of the Nazarene (Lemont, IL).
