Dennis T. Murphy, age 69, of Chicago, passed away suddenly on June 14, 2019 at Weiss Memorial Hospital.
Dennis was born March 14, 1950 in Chicago to the late Timothy G. and Denyse T. (nee Lecuyer) Murphy. He is the loving father to Veronica Herrera; cherished grandfather to Tony Ayala, Valerie Cisneros, Violet Hayes, and Hope Hayes; beloved brother to Timothy G. (Diane) Murphy, Louise (Dennis) Muhr, Bernard (late Nancy) Murphy, Denyse Murphy-Rundle, Christine Murphy; uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Dennis retired from the Chicago Transit Authority after 30 years of service. He enjoyed dancing, loved socializing and being around people. He was the human GPS of Chicago before GPS. He knew every train, bus, route and best ways to get to your destination.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
