Rich English was born in San Francisco and moved to Marin County when he was 15. He attended Archbishop Riordan High School in San Francisco and then Marin Catholic High. He then graduated from St. Mary’s College where he played center for the Gaels football team.
He had a successful career as a manager for International Truck and Engine, White/Volvo, and Mid-Pacific.
In 1991 he married the love of his life, Pam Robinson and had a son, Tyler English, the following year. August 10 would have been Pam and Richs’ 30th wedding anniversary.
Retirement was good for Rich. He was proud of the charity work of the Rip City Riders, of which he was a long-time member, riding his Harley Softail. He loved to drive Holly Berry, his 1966 Plymouth Sports Fury, and cruise in his 1987 Corvette C4. He was a member of the 51-50 Foundation car club and loved to do the local car shows. Holly Berry was even a movie star in a Netflix TV series!
Rich was a terrific gardener and had a beautiful yard. Most mornings would find him at the dog park with his beloved Bernese Mountain dog, Rowdy. He was a total grill master and a great collector of memorabilia. But the greatest pride of his life was being a dad to his son, Tyler.
Rich is predeceased by his parents George Richard English and Anne Marconi English. He is survived by his wife Pam Robinson English and Son Richard Tyler English. He is also survived by his cousins Carol Valls, Laura Schorr, and Linda Potter, who were like sisters to him.
His funeral service will be on Friday, August 20, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Loretto in Novato, Ca followed by interment at Valley Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice by the Bay.
