Jackalene Greer, age 86, of Novato, passed away on Sept. 25, 2014. She was born in Ravina, Oklahoma on Aug. 24, 1928. Jackie graduated from Red Rock High School and attended Oklahoma State. She married Jesse Greer on Feb. 8, 1947 and enjoyed 67 happy years together. She had a career in merchandising for Emporium Capwell in San Rafael/San Francisco and enjoyed quilting with the Quilting Sisters and Marin Quilt and Needle Arts Guild. Other passions included genealogy, gardening, travel and spending time with grandkids. Jackie is survived by daughters, Jeannie Greer LeBaron of Santa Rosa and Judy Greer of Portland, OR, grandchildren, Angela Graceffo of Clifton, NJ, Robyn Otero of Highlands Ranch, CO, Annie Pugh of Willits, CA and Elizabeth Greer of Nice, CA and three great-granddaughters and one great-grandson. Jackie has been preceded in death by her son John Greer and two brothers, James Byrd and Melburn Byrd and a sister, Ada Lou Elsie. Viewing to be at Keaton’s Redwood Chapel, 1801 Novato Blvd., Novato on Wednesday, Oct. 1 from 5-8pm. Funeral service to be held at the chapel at Valley Memorial Park, 650 Bugeia Lane, Novato on Thursday, Oct. 2 at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice by the Bay at 17 E.
