William A Motte

William “Bill” Motte, 81, of Pembroke, passed away on December 30, 2022 surrounded by family and friends. He was born April 24, 1941, in Providence, RI, son of the late Edwin and Emma (O’Donnell) Motte.

Predeceased by his elder sisters, Dolores Motte and Sr. Mary Motte, FMM.

William is survived by his loving brothers, Ed Motte and Joe Motte; his adored nieces, Melissa Furness, Julia Motte Dennis, Liz Morse, Kristin Motte, and Nicole Motte; nephew Joe Motte, and several great nieces and nephews.

Bill grew up in East Walpole, MA and graduated from Mount Saint Charles Academy in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. He went on to serve in the United States Marine Corps for six years. Bill was a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services. Bill was a talented musician and songwriter with the gift of storytelling through his music and lyrics. Bill often performed at The Beale House in Kingston and was part of the South Shore Folk music community. Bill was a loving and generous brother, uncle, and friend who valued quality time and memorable experiences. He had a great sense of humor and could always bring a smile to one's face! Bill was passionate about family, music, and fellowship.

Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, January 6, 2023 at Saint Patrick Church, 244 Smith St., Providence, RI. Following Mass Interment and a Celebration of Life will be held at 399 Fruit Hill Ave, North Providence, RI.
