Thomas Chandler, age 57, of Franklin passed away on June 8, 2024.
Born on January 5,1967 in Albany New York, to the late Bob and MK Chandler, Thomas grew up in Dover and lived in Franklin for the past 20 years. He was a 1985 graduate of Dover-Sherborn Regional High School and a 1992 graduate of Salem State University, where he graduated with a degree in criminal justice. He worked as a private investigator for several years before taking a sales position with Shaughnessy NES (now United Rentals), where he was employed for over 20 years before his death.
Thomas leaves behind his family, Kim, Ryann, Molly and Declan. He also leaves his siblings, Colleen and her husband Steve McCormick, Julie Chandler, Nancy and her husband Craig Drinkwater, Lynne and her husband Nick Spirito, Dennis Chandler and his wife Janet, and his twin brother Michael Chandler. He was an uncle to 17 nieces and nephews as well as a great-uncle to 8.
His true source of joy was his three children. He was bursting with pride when his oldest daughter recently graduated from high school and was looking forward to bringing her to college in a few months. He enjoyed watching Ryann and Molly’s high school gymnastics meets, and he was a beloved youth baseball and flag football coach and spent countless days and evenings over the years on a field coaching his son, Declan.
When he wasn’t working, Thomas could be found on his boat or on his motorcycle, working on his 1964 Chevy Impala SS, at the beach, on the golf course, at the Pats game, at the Tavern and spending time with family and friends. He always had a funny story to tell, a beer to share and a hand to lend. He will be missed by so many.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street NORWOOD on Friday, June 14th from 4-7 PM . A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Most Precious Blood Church, 30 Centre Street, Dover on Saturday, June 15th at 11:00 AM. Please go directly to the church Saturday Morning.
