Steve C. McCormack escaped this mortal realm on Sunday, September 25, 2022. The family believes he passed on to provide messages of love and peace from the other side. So, look for him in the flickering of lights or giraffes.
Steve worked for Verizon for over 30 years as a Telecommunication Technician. When not working, he could be found either dabbling with standup comedy, working on a great tan at the beach, winning at the casino, conquering challenging Peloton workouts, hiking up Blue Hills (yes, with the canes!), and creating peace through meditation. Proving every day that life does not have any limits!
Steve is a recovered masshole driver, who finally limited his expletives while driving. He is well known for this love of music rocking out to Pink Floyd, the B-52’s, Megadeth, ELO, and many others including his own created music. He will forever be remembered for his long, long, long, talks, love of giraffes, his stone collection, and just being an overly funny, friendly guy, who would help anyone in need.
Steve is survived by his loving and adoring daughter, Kelly Spears and her husband Brian Spears, his brother John McCormack and his wife Dorothy McCormack, his sister-in-law Kathrine McCormack (Smyth), and many relatives and friends.
Surviving family and friends are overjoyed that Steve is no longer burdened by his ailments and now is surrounded by his late parents, James McCormack and Rita McCormack, his late brothers, James McCormack and George McCormack, his late furbabies, Lou, Lilly, and Norton as well as many friends and relatives who have passed before him.
A private interment and celebration of a life well lived will be held in the next few weeks. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses, patient care technicians, and administrative team at Beth Israel Hospital – Boston, 11th Floor Reisman Building. Each of you provided exceptional care to Steve C. McCormack these last few months. Thank you for your continued service!
