"Stevie” was born February 25, 1964 in Brighton, MA to Dorothy and “Butchie” Kirby. He was the devoted brother of the late Diane Kirby, the late Patrick Kirby, and survived by Paul and Roger Kirby. “Stevie’s” early years were spent in Brighton, MA where Stephen was a member of the St. Columbkille Parish.
In the early seventies, his family moved to High Street in Westwood. Over the years, his family enjoyed vacationing in York Beach Maine. When at home in Westwood, “Stevie” enjoyed many summer days and nights at the reservoir where was surrounded by friends and family. “Stevie” graduated from Westwood High School in 1982. After graduation, he worked as a cook at Bergson’s where his mother worked as a waitress. He and his father started a business together know as “We Do Windows”. “Stevie continued as owner and operator of “We Do Windows” until complications from diabetes made it impossible for him to do so any longer.
“Steve’s interests included family, (he never forgot a birthday or anniversary), cooking, cars and music. He always looked forward to the car shows at Bass Outlet in Wrentham. He would walk across the entire lot, often times on crutch’s, hoping to catch a peek at the GTO he dreamed off. In the kitchen “Stevie” could whip up a four course meal even when the cabinets were bare. He was known best for his homemade french-fries. He would listen to any kind of music but Rock-n-Roll was in his heart. His favorite bands included Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and Bad Company to name a few. But when he cooked he liked to listen to Bob Marley.
Visitation for Stephen was held on Saturday, August 11, 2018 from 4pm - 6pm. A Funeral Service at 5:30 pm was officiated by Deacon Joseph Messina.
