Russell Paul Cunningham

Russell P. “Russ” Cunningham, 65, of Norwood passed away peacefully at home Friday after an illness. Born in Boston he was a son of the late George and Marie Cunningham. He was the husband of Maribeth (Curran) Cunningham, to whom he had been married for 44 years. He was the loving father of the late Kevin Cunningham.

Surviving in addition to his wife; a son Matthew and his wife Michelle of Norwood; a daughter Kathleen and her husband Chris Ewings of Fitchburg; 3 grandchildren Chloe and Avery Cunningham and Olivia Ewings; his Mother-in-law Elizabeth Curran; cherished siblings Robert of CA, Richard of RI, Paul and his wife Tanya of PA, Maryellen Profita and her husband Randy of CA; he was the brother-in-law of Patti and Andy Malacaria, Joseph and Eileen Curran, Karen and the late Chris “Kibby” Curran, Kathy and her husband Brian Driesen; nephew of Teresa Cunningham, many cousins , nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews.

Russ loved above all else spending time with his family and a good cruise.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dana Farber at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital and Good Shepard Home Hospice.

His Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at 11am in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 547 Washington St., Norwood. Visiting hours Tuesday 4 to 7pmin the Gillooly Funeral Home 126 Walpole St., Norwood. Burial in Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to Circle of Hope, PO Box 421 Norwood, MA 02062
