Rita C. Binda

Rita C. (Rocco) Binda of Norwood, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2014. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Mary (Siranni) Rocco. Rita was the beloved wife of Louis J. Binda of Norwood; loving sister of Rose Rocco and the late Ann Richard and Frank Rocco; cherished aunt of Rose Cashman and her husband Dan of Franklin; Rita and Greg Clark of Las Vegas, NV; Joseph Richard of Jamaica Plain and several grand nieces and nephews. Rita graduated from Notre Dame Academy and worked for the U.S. Government in South Boston for over 35 Years. Rita was an avid skier and enjoyed bowling and dancing. Rita was also a talented artist who painted many beautiful pictures that her family still enjoys. After her retirement Rita was a volunteer at Norwood Hospital and enjoyed a quiet life at home doing crossword puzzles and watching her favorite TV programs. Rita and her husband enjoyed traveling to Fort Myers Beach, FL for the past 25 years. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, August 11, 2014 at 10 AM at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 547 Washington St., Norwood, MA 02062. Interment will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA at 12:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Little Sister of the Poor, Jeanne Jugan Residence, 186 Highland Ave. Somerville, MA 02143.
