It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Patrick Joseph Buckley, a devoted husband, brother, uncle, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Patrick passed away peacefully under Hospice Care on October 20, 2024 at age 70. He is leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness and many cherished memories from all of those that knew him.
Patrick aka "Pat" was born on April 18, 1954, in Boston, MA living in Roslindale, MA to parents Dennis and Catherine (Leonard) Buckley. He was Christine (Marcotte’s) beloved husband with whom he shared 38 years of marriage. Their union was a testament to enduring love and unwavering partnership, filled with countless adventures together.
Pat graduated from Boston Technical High School in 1972. He worked his way to become a Journeyman Electrician and worked for Electrical Control Engineers for 18 years. Then in 1993 Pat started a new career in Banking making his way through various banks and takeovers and working his way up to becoming the Vice President of Facilities Management for Citizens Bank. After 27 years in this career he then retired to Port St. Lucie, FL as a snowbird and summers in Meredith, NH.
Those who knew Pat will remember his warm smile, genuine kindness, ability to make you calm in the most difficult situations for anyone and could always find an answer or a way to fix any problem encountered. Pat could make everyone feel valued and loved. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who were blessed to know and love him.
As a father, Pat always prioritized his children’s needs over his own. He was willing to listen and always offer his perspectives to his two daughters, Stacy Lamar and Lisa Travasso, also loved his sons-in-law’s Kevin Travassos and Stephen Lamar. His love also extended to his three grandchildren, Tyler, Ryan, Nolan and his great-grandson Adam. All of them brought him much joy, happiness and immeasurable pride.
Pat always enjoyed his summers in Meredith, NH since childhood, built a home for the retirement years and continued every summer there spent with his family. Loved working with his Kubota Tractor through the 5 ½ acres of woods. Also loved motorcycling on his Harley by the lakes, mountains, woods, Kancamagus Highway and attended the Laconia Motorcycle Week for the last 39 years.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Catherine and Dennis J Buckley and sister, Katherine Buckley. He is survived by his loving wife, Christine (Marcotte) Buckley, daughters, Stacy and her husband Stephen Lamar and Lisa and her husband Kevin Travassos, grandsons, Tyler Brown and his partner, Gabriella Francioso, Ryan and Nolan Travassos and great-grandson, Adam Brown, sisters, Denise Mistler and Maryann and her husband Jim Bruno, brothers, Thomas and his partner Pam Larkin and Dennis Buckley, step-siblings, Pia and her husband Andy Kramer, Peggy and her husband Adam Orenczak and Ray Bonavito and many wonderful nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street, (Rt. 1A) NORWOOD on Monday, October 28 from 4 – 7:30 PM, with a Funeral Service at 7:30. Interment will be at Oakland Cemetery, 73 Meredith Center Road, Meredith, New Hampshire on Tuesday, October 29, at 11 AM.
A Celebration of Pat's Life in Florida is planned for a later date.
