Mona Diny, 73, of Lauderhill, FL., formerly of Sharon, MA. and Petionville, Haiti, went to her heavenly home on January 29, 2022. Born in Port-au-Prince to Jean and Carmen (Jeudi) Belizaire; and beloved wife to Chiler Diny for over 53 years.
Mona was at the center of a happy bustling home, the fifth child of her family of eight siblings. She attended secondary school at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Port-au-Prince. That is when she fell in love with her childhood sweetheart, Chiler. They grew together into a deep friendship and a deeper love. They have been together since. Married in January 1969, they both relocated to the United States and lived in Dorchester, MA. and eventually Sharon, MA. where they raised their family. Mona and Chiler lived in Sharon, MA. until the summer of 2019 then moved to Lauderhill, Florida, to enjoy the year-round sunshine. They recently and joyfully celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary.
Mona pursued her dream of becoming a beautician in 1982. Mona knew how to put a body and a bounce in any curl of hair. Mona became a cornerstone of the Haitian community providing the best Cosmetology services for her countless wonderful customers. Mona was loved by all. Mona was also a supportive board member of the 1st Haitian Nurses Association of Mass. in the 1980’s. A great lover of people, Mona is ever generous and sensitive to the suffering of others. Mona also served as an active church member of Hope Church in Sharon, MA for over 30 years. The last two years she attended 1st Haitian Baptist Church of North Lauderdale, FL. Mona was a phenomenal cook, constantly looking to expand her culinary knowledge. Mona made excellent homemade ice cream, bread, and cookies like no other. Mona was also an excellent seamstress. Her greatest dream was to relocate to Haiti, that dream she worked hard for. May her beautiful soul rest in peace!
Mona is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Chiler Diny of Lauderhill, FL. Mona was a devoted, adoring and doting mother to Peggy Reese of Walpole and Schiller Diny Jr. of Roxbury. Cherished grandmother of Darnell Reese of Somerville and Marissa Reese of Walpole. Mona is survived by her following seven siblings: Madeleine Belizaire of Medford, Jean-Claude Belizaire and his wife Marlene Belizaire of Sharon, Yvon Belizaire of Hyde Park (and the memory of his late wife Jeanne), Ghislaine Belizaire of Lauderhill and her husband Henoc Maurice Felix, Renal Belizaire of Palm Springs, Eric Belizaire of Fort Lauderdale and his wife Mina Roseau Belizaire, Freda Belizaire-Laurent of Royal Palm Beach and her husband Guy Laurent.
Mona was preceded by her beloved Mother Carmen (Jeudi) Belizaire. This victorious walk into Heaven bids goodbye to many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and many unnamed extended family members and long time friends.
Services will be held privately on Friday, February 11th.
