Kristin Rose Smith

Kristin Rose Smith, age 47 passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 4, 2024, after a brief illness. Kristin was known for her intelligence, her empathy and compassion for others. She enjoyed making people feel appreciated and special. She loved a good laugh, relished good music, her favorite TV programs, movies and treasured her time at the ocean. When you were sad - she knew how to make you smile. She was loved by all who knew her. She enjoyed time spent with her partner, Kevin Carr, her large family, and her wide circle of friends. She also loved caring for her cat. She was proudest of her daughter, Gianna, who was the light of her life. She spent the last ten plus years of her life in the Norwood area.

Kristin grew up in Melrose, the daughter of Eve (Smith) Moynihan and the late Robert B. Smith. She was the youngest of six children, and is survived by Stephanie, Lisa, Robert, Charlene and Daniel and spouses, in addition to Kristin’s many beloved nieces, nephews, and great-niece in the Massachusetts and New Hampshire area. Kristin also leaves behind her very special aunts, uncles, cousins, many dear friends, colleagues, and others who were an integral part of her life.

Kristin worked as a Medical Secretary for both family and specialty practices for many years. Most recently, she supervised a call center for multiple locations in a specialty medical practice. Kristin always served the patients in the practices where she worked with the utmost care, respect and professionalism. She took her work seriously and with a sense of pride in making sure she delivered the best support possible. She loved her co-workers and thought of them as extended family. She always spoke very highly of the providers she supported with reverence and respect. Kristin earned professional certification from Northern Essex Community College, graduating with high honors.

Kristin will be missed by everyone who loved her. She was an amazing mom, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, partner, aunt, great-aunt, niece, cousin, and friend. Kristin was the first to let you know that she was in your corner! She will be in our hearts always and forever.

Private services were held to honor and celebrate Kristin's life. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of prayers and / or contribution for the benefit of Kristin’s daughter, Gianna Viele.
