Joseph D. Ferrari, 93, of Westwood, MA passed away peacefully on Sunday April 10, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Born in 1928, he was the son of Giuseppe “Joseph” Ferrari and Adele “Dolly” (Danieli) Ferrari, and the brother of John Ferrari. He was married to the love of his life, Olga (Halchuck) Ferrari for 70 years. They raised their family in Norwood and enjoyed their retirement years living in Westwood.
Joseph was a veteran of World War II, proudly serving in the US Marine Corp 2nd Marine Division. He graduated from Northeastern University and achieved a successful career as a Senior Executive of Sales at Alcoa/Howmet Corp, before starting his own manufacturer’s rep company within the aluminum industry. Joseph was an avid golfer who loved playing golf with his sons, grandsons and buddies at the Norwood Country Club. He enjoyed tending to his tomato garden, fishing, boating, and enjoying nature and solitude at his lakeside home and on Cape Cod with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He just loved telling his grandchildren funny stories of growing up and advising them on life.
Joseph was the loving father of Joe Ferrari and his wife Joanne, John Ferrari and his wife Elizabeth, Robert Ferrari and his wife Kim, and Lisa Ferrari and her husband Michael Murray. He was the proud “Grandpa” to his grandchildren Christopher Ferrari, Daniel Ferrari, Brendan Ferrari, Jillian Ferrari, Kaila Ferrari, Katelyn Murray, and Matthew Murray. He was blessed to be “Great Grandpa” to his two great grandchildren Nicholas Ferrari and Benjamin Ferrari.
A funeral mass to celebrate Joseph’s wonderful life will be held at St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Norwood on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at 11:00am, with burial to follow at Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree.
