It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Heather Brown, 54 years old, of Mansfield, Massachusetts. She passed on December 27, 2023 surrounded by her husband, children, and family. She was born on April 2, 1969 in Concord New Hampshire. Heather is the Beloved Daughter of the late Camilla Bracy DiMartino and Kenneth Davis of Prescott, Arizona. She is also the beloved daughter of Kenneth’s wife, Patricia Davis, of Prescott, Arizona.
Heather is survived through one sibling, Michelle Davis-Cameron of Gilroy, California. Her legacy lives on through her three children, Patrick Brown, 29, of Mansfield Massachusetts, Shannon Brown, 27, of Mansfield Massachusetts, and Kaitlyn Brown, 20, of Mansfield Massachusetts. Additionally, she is survived by her friends and extended family, including many nieces and nephews. Most of all she is survived by her husband and love of her life, Kevin Brown of Mansfield, Massachusetts. After meeting at the age of 16, they were married May 16, 1992 and spent 31 beautiful years together. Kevin loved Heather to the fullest, and eventually became her full-time caregiver as her illness progressed. He truly has taught us the meaning of the vow “in sickness and in health."
Heather’s extended family included her friends and colleagues at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, where she worked for almost 35 years. She graduated St. Elizabeth’s School of Nursing in May of 1991 and worked at St. Elizabeth’s for the entirety of career. She worked in many different areas, but her favorite place to work was in the Intensive Care Unit. She was a nurse that advocated for her patients and treated them with dignity, respect, and kindness. She was incredibly intelligent and strong enough to care for the sickest of patients in the hospital. Always with copious notes in hand, her clipboard full of notecards, white lined paper, and a purple pen.
Heather’s favorite place was in her backyard, sitting on her deck in the chair Kevin made for her, surrounded by her family. Having a close family was important to Heather and her family will cherish the time she was able to give them forever. Heather’s presence will be deeply missed by all that knew her. Her caring spirit, contagious laughter, and unconditional love will be in our hearts forever.
Services for Heather will be held at Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole St., Norwood, MA 02062 on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Additionally, Heather absolutely loved flowers. We are requesting purple flowers in particular as that was her favorite color.
