Del Dolan

Adeline “Del” (Mosca) Dolan of Norwood passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at the age of 98. Born in Waltham, she was the daughter of Sabatino and Carolina Mosca.

Del loved playing the piano, reading books, doing crossword puzzles, playing chess, and cards. She was a friend to all and made friends everywhere she went. Del was a wonderful confidante and people knew she would listen to their problems and keep their secrets. For many years she worked as a Boston Public elementary school librarian where she loved her students & they loved her. She spent many happy days sailing with her husband Harry at Savin Hill Yacht Club. Every summer Del and Harry took their family on camping adventures and when they retired they took a camping road trip across the US and Canada. Del also spent many wonderful winters in Florida where she played the piano for her friends and participated in many activities. Del was a parishioner at St. Timothy’s Church for many years.

Del was the beloved wife of the late Harold Dolan. She is survived by her children; Harold Dolan and his wife Kathy of Marshfield, WI, Elaine Flynn and her husband Jerry of North Attleboro, Janet Hesselschwerdt and her husband Paul of Norwood, Ellen Kelly and her partner Cal Groton of Norwood, Matthew Dolan and his wife Marianne of Nashua, NH and Barbara Fitzgerald and her husband John of Braintree.

In addition to her children, Adeline is survived by 12 loving grandchildren; Amy, Mark, Ryan, Elise, Lauren, Evan, Shelagh, Callie, Mattie, Patrick, Jack and Julia as well as “Grammy Del” to seven great-grandkids; Alexis, Natalie, David, Cameron, Chloe, Emma and Lucy.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Timothy Church, 650 Nichols Street, NORWOOD on Saturday December 14, 2024 at 11:00 A.M.

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in Del's memory to E.N.C. (Everyone Needs a Community) at 111216 Marsh Road, Marshfield, WI 54449 or to an organization or a charity of your choice.
