McDonough, Anne Leger, age 82, died peacefully on February 23, 2012, surrounded by her family. Born in Charlestown, MA, she was the widow of the late Patrick McDonough and is survived by her children: Katie, Kevin and his wife Maureen of Norwood, Brian and his wife Julie of Walpole, Stephen and his fiancée Julie Dearnley of Pleasanton, CA, Joe and his wife Kathy Ryan, Barry, Tim and his wife Diane, and Colleen DiBlasi and her husband Joe DiBlasi, all of Norwood. She is also survived by seventeen loving grandchildren and her dear “siblings”, Elaine, Margaret, and David. A longtime employee of New England Telephone, Anne served as President of the Southwest chapter of the Pioneers, the phone company’s charitable volunteer board. She also found time to volunteer with SHARE, a local food pantry. A longtime and proud Norwood resident, there was no other place Anne wanted to live and raise her family. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 27 at 8:00am from the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street (Rte. 1A), Norwood, then at 9:00am at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 547 Washington Street, Norwood, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow the Mass in Highland Cemetery, Norwood. The family will receive visitors on Sunday from 4:00 – 8:00pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Anne McDonough may be made to Hearts for Hope Foundation, c/o Jayne Davis, 18 Bragg Road, Foxboro, MA 02035, a Cystic Fibrosis charity, in honor of the Ryan-Palermo family.
