Tina Van Althuis

Tina Van Althuis, 80, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 31, 2024. She was born on February 14, 1944 in Oosterbierum, Netherlands to the late Frank and Tina (Postma) Visser. She immigrated to the US in 1952 and married the love of her life, Edward in 1963. The couple settled in Vernon, NJ where they co owned Dagmar Dale Farms. In 1997, they moved to Sherburne, NY with their two sons and established Van Althuis Dairy.

Tina was instrumental in establishing the Sussex Help Center in Sussex, NJ. She was an active member of the Sussex Christian Reformed Church, volunteered at the Sussex Christian School and was a member of its OEL Society. Most recently, she was a member of the Sovereign Grace Community Church in Norwich.

In addition to her parents, Tina was predeceased by her sister, Joan DeVries. Tina leaves behind her loving husband of 61 years, Edward; her children, Frank and Diana, of Sherburne, Marcie and Michael Walther, of Wantage, NJ, and Keith and Dianne, of Sherburne; her grandchildren, Kyle (Karis) Van Althuis, Frank (Corine) Van Althuis, Courtney (Tyler) Rundell, Kerry (Laura) Van Althuis, Lisa (Clayton) Caldwell, Ryan (Amanda) Walther, Jordan Van Althuis, Erica (Kevin Nguyen) Van Althuis, Jacob Van Althuis, Meghan Van Althuis, and Madison Van Althuis; 11 great-grandchildren; as well as her sisters, Marge Van Thaden, Jenny Hutton, and Wilma Gorrell.

Tina’s family will receive friends on Saturday, November 9, at R.J. Fahy Funeral Home, 116 N. Broad St. Norwich from 1:00-3:00pm. A memorial service will take place at Sussex Christian Reformed Church, 49 Unionville Ave. Sussex, NJ on Saturday, November 30 at 11:00am.
